Final Week of Swim Team-IMPORTANT READ
Barracudas,
Congrats on making it to the final week of summer swim! Our last Meet is on Wednesday June 29th, and our End of Season Celebration is on Thursday, June 30th.
Our Fifth and Final Meet of the season is this Wednesday, June 29th, AT HOME. If your swimmer can’t make it to the Meet, PLEASE OPT-OUT BY TONIGHT (Sunday, June 26th). You can opt out through the website on the "Meets and Events" Tab or reply to this email.
We need more volunteers! If we do not have sufficient volunteers, we will not be able to run the Meet. You can access the signup page on the “Meets and Events” tab. Please make sure to note the time, most are first/second half shifts, and some are full Meet. EACH Parent must signup for at least three shifts per season. This is the biggest meet of the season so if you have already volunteered 3 times, we request that you still volunteer for any available shifts. Thank you so much for your help.
Meet 5 is PINK OUT FOR BREAST CANCER! Cobb Summer Swim League has partnered with It's The Journey Foundation to fundraise for the fight against Breast Cancer here in Georgia. Collectively, the league has crossed the $10,000 threshold through the merchandise store that was available earlier this season. Thank you to everyone who has contributed! IF you still need to pick up Pink Gear ordered through the league, it will be available at the practice. On Wednesday, we encourage everyone to wear PINK to show our support because, in the end, we are all one team fighting for the same cause. If you would like to donate to the fight against breast cancer, click HERE.
For the final Meet of the season and to carry on a historic swim team tradition, we have added a parent relay! It's time to show your kids how it's done! We are looking for 8 brave parents to make 2 relay teams! This event is a 200 Freestyle relay (2 laps each) and will take place after event 43 at the halftime break. This is everyone's favorite event (especially for the swimmers). You can sign up in the Job Signup Section on the Meet. We have also invited parents from Falcon Woods to join us in this historic event.
Finally, the end-of-season party will take place on Thursday, June 30th at Holly Springs Club Pool from (6pm-8:45pm). We will not have open swim in the morning after the Meet. Coaches will hand out awards and dinner will be pot-luck style - everyone please bring a dish to share (see assignments below). We will set up the food under the pavilion.
FOOD ASSIGNMENTS (by Last Name):
A-G: Sides
H-M: Main Dishes
N-Z: Desserts
Please bring your food item in a DISPOSABLE CONTAINER with a SERVING UTENSIL.
We will probably have some drinks leftover from concessions, but please plan to bring your own in case we run out. This is the only swim team event where adult beverages are allowed (but NO GLASS ALLOWED on the pool deck).
Hope to see you all at practice Tomorrow!
Trent
