The Holly Springs Barracudas swim team is part of the Cobb County Summer Swim League. The CSSL consists of about 50 teams located at neighborhood and community pools throughout Cobb County. The purpose is to provide a fun and competitive atmosphere for young swimmers ages 5-18. The season lasts 7-8 weeks, consisting of daily practices and 5 weekly evening meets.  

The State-Qualifying (Patti Wilder) Meet takes place June 26th-28th. Swimmers who place first, second, or third in their events can then represent Cobb County in the GRPA State Swim Meet.

This is a learning league. No prior swim team experience is necessary, but your child should be comfortable in the water. Swimmers must be able to swim the length of the pool (25 yards) without assistance in order to participate in meets. Many of our coaches offer private and small group lessons to swimmers that need a little extra confidence to be able to swim the lap. 

By the end of June, your child will be a stronger, more confident swimmer. If your swimmer is new to the sport, you (and they!) will be amazed at what they accomplish in this short season. They will learn about sportsmanship, setting goals, and being part of a team as well as learn what a bit of physical effort can help them achieve.

It is important that your child attend every practice possible. (Don’t worry - we understand it's summer vacation.) We do ask that you let us know of any MEETS that your child will miss so that we can leave them off the line-up for that week.

EVERY SWIM TEAM ATHLETE will receive the following:

* SPIRIT WEAR - Team T-Shirt  

* Daily PRACTICE / COACHING Sessions (M-Th) throughout the 7-week season

* Stroke CLINICS that "dive deeper" into stroke technique, turns, etc.

* Participation in 5 WEEKLY MEETS with other similar-sized swim teams in the area

* PLACE RIBBONS for each swim event that your swimmer places in (1st through 5th place)

* End-of-Season AWARDS BANQUET and Celebration

FEES:

Holly Springs Members - $130/athlete, $120/sibling (up to $500 max per family)

Non-Members - $150/athlete (up to $500 max per family)

Concessions Fee - $25 per family

Cobb County / Swimtopia Fee - $10.36/athlete

Cobb County / Technology Fee - $3.31/athlete
